Fire damages Fireside Inn & Suites in Portland

One guest was treated for smoke inhalation at the motel on Riverside Street, off outer Brighton Avenue.

Fire officials say 46-year-old April S. Patch died of smoke inhalation in the house fire on Sunday.

The fire in a home on the Carl-Broggi Highway was reported around 5:45 p.m. Sunday.

The fire, which started at 5 p.m. Saturday, was extinguished by the Portland Fire Department.
