Christina Davis’ paintings and Dave Wade’s photographs of tugboats, old salts and salt marshes will be on display at Cia Cafe on Ocean Street in South Portland through Sept. 30. There will be an artists’ reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, the same day as the city’s Knightville Street Festival and Art in the Park.

Davis of Scarborough is a 1987 graduate of the Maine College of Art and also studied painting and jewelry design at Texas Tech University.

For many years, she worked as a jeweler. More recently, she turned back to painting and every year heads to Prince Edward Island in Canada to paint plein air landscapes.

Wade of Portland spent over 12 years in Asia photographing for Forbes and other magazines. His photos have appeared in the Portland Museum of Art’s Biennial and Maine Coast Artist’s “Photographing Maine” exhibit, as well as many other galleries in Maine and internationally.

Wade’s black and white photos of Portland’s docks and lobstermen are part of his book project documenting Portland’s endangered working waterfront.
