Old Orchard Beach police are investigating an overnight burglary at the Landry’s Shop ‘n Save Supermarket at 2 Cascade Road.

A worker reported to the independent grocery store at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday and found that someone had forced their way into the store and stolen cash from the office.

The store closed at 9 p.m. Monday night and the burglary is believed to have occurred during the early morning, police said. It does not appear any grocery items were taken from the store and it appears the burglar or burglars were familiar with the store layout and knew what they wanted to target, police said.

Anyone within information is asked to call Detective Sgt. David Hemingway at 934-4911.
