GORHAM – Courtney Cochran had 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the University of Southern Maine to a 77-67 victory over Husson in a college women’s basketball game on Saturday.

Haley Jordan added 13 points, four rebounds and two blocks, and Kaylie DeMillo scored 12 for the Huskies (2-1).

Brianna Hanscom lead the Eagles (0-2) with 18 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

DEAN 99, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 61: Jessica Stuckey made six 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 24 points to lead the Bulldogs past the Seawolves at South Portland.

Christina Ricci led SMCC with 21 points and six assists, Alisa Sweet added 15 points and eight rebounds.

BOWDOIN 89, LESLEY 45: Nicole Coombes had 20 points and the Polar Bears (1-1) scored the first 22 points of the game and cruised past the Lynx (0-3) in Salem State Tipoff Tournament at Salem, Mass.

Alexa Barry added 15 points for Bowdoin.

CURRY 60, ST. JOSEPH’S 53: Danyel Cousins had 16 points and seven rebounds and the Colonels (4-0) opened the second half with a 14-5 run and held off the Monks (1-2) in the championship game of the Curry Tipoff Tournament at Milton, Mass.

The Monks were led by Ashley Geel with 15 points and six rebounds.

UNE 68, TRINITY 66: Margo Russell made a jumper with 0.8 seconds left to lift the Nor’easters (3-0) over the Bantams (0-1) in the Emerson College Tipoff Tournament at Boston.

Kelley Paradis led the Nor’easters with 13 points and Russell finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.

W. CONN. STATE 79, BATES 69: Heather Lee scored 25 points as the Colonials (2-0) used a 7-0 run in the final two minutes to pull away from the Bobcats (0-1) in Babson Invitational at Babson Park, Mass.

Allie Beaulieu had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead the Bobcats.

COLBY 61, NEW PALTZ 46: Jil Vaughan had 15 points and 10 rebounds to help the Mules (1-0) defeat the Hawks (1-2) at Amherst, Mass.

COLBY 88, NEWBURY 74: Eric Beaulieu had 22 points on 11-of-13 shooting and Mike Russell scored 17 as Colby (1-1) opened a 44-27 halftime lead on the way to a victory over Newbury (0-2) at Waltham, Mass.

DEAN 104, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 83: Nay-Quan Bloomer scored 21 points and the Bulldogs pulled away in the second half at South Portland.

Josh Mackie had 27 points for SMCC.

BOWDOIN 74, ROGER WILLIAMS 71: Will Hanley had 18 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two blocks as the Polar Bears (2-0) held off the Hawks (2-1) at Bristol, R.I.

Justin Howell scored 15 points for Bowdoin.

BATES 71, ST. LAWRENCE 50: Alex Gallant scored 18 points to pace the Bobcats (2-1) past the Saints (1-2) at Rochester, N.Y.

MEN’S HOCKEY

UMASS-BOSTON 3, COLBY 2: Eric Tufman scored with 8:20 left and the Beacons (1-1) held off the Mules (0-2) at Waterville.

Spike Smigelski and Cory McGrath scored for the Mules.

BOWDOIN 7, BABSON 3: Daniel Weiniger and Robert Toczylowski each had two goals as the Polar Bears (2-0, 2-0 NESCAC) scored five second-period goals to pull away from the Beavers (1-1, 1-1) at Brunswick. 

NORWICH 4, USM 2: Greg Eskedjian scored a power-play goal with 4:27 left in the second period to break a 2-2 tie and help the Cadets (2-0, 2-0 ECAC East) to a win over the Huskies (0-2, 0-2) at Northfield, Vt.

Zach Joy and Craig Perham each scored for the Huskies.

ST. MICHAEL’S 5, UNE 0: Reave MacKinnon had a goal and two assists to lead St. Mich-ael’s (2-0) past the Nor’easters (0-2) at Burlington, Vt.

UNE goalie Mike Roper stopped 38 shots.

CASTLETON STATE 2, USM 1: Katharyn Dembowski made 41 saves to help Castleton State (3-2-1, 2-1-1 ECAC East) beat Southern Maine (1-3-1, 1-3-1) at Rutland, Vt.

Katie Paradis scored a power-play goal, assisted by Lauren Whiting, at 8:23 of the second period for the Huskies.
