PORTLAND — Residents in the Rosemont neighborhood plan to meet with representatives of the Portland Police Department to establish a crime watch group.
The meeting will be held Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at St. Ansgar’s Church on Woodford Street.
The senior lead officer for the area, Tim Farris, will present strategies to help develop the neighborhood crime watch group and enable it to help reduce crime and increase residents’ sense of safety.
“When you organize the eyes and ears of a community, it not only allows the residents to feel safer and more in control of their neighborhood but it also brings people together to form a more close-knit community,” said City Councilor Ed Suslovic, whose district includes Rosemont.
