ORONO — The fourth and final finalist for the top job at the University of Maine is wrapping up his visit to campus.

Paul Ferguson, Southern Illinois University vice president for academic affairs, is touring the Orono campus and meeting with student government leaders, faculty, graduate students and union leaders today as he completes his two-day visit. Ferguson met with staff, students and faculty on Wednesday.

The other three finalists to replace President Robert Kennedy, who steps down in June, have already visited the campus.

Daniel Julius, vice president of academic affairs at the University of Alaska System of Higher Education, and Donald Farish, president of Rowan University in New Jersey, paid visits earlier this month.

James Page, CEO of James W. Sewall Co. in Old Town, made his visit in January.
