Marine Cpl. Jonathan D. Block, son of Deborah Block and David Block, both of York, is being deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He is assigned to Heavy Helicopter Squadron 362 based at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
Army Spec. Garrett W. McAdam has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. McAdam is the son of Nancy McAdam of Portland and is a 2006 graduate of Portland High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2010 from Clark University, Worcester, Mass.
Sampson Air Force Veterans Association’s Southern Maine Squadron will meet at noon Oct. 11 at Marco’s Ristorante Italiano, 12 Mollison Way, Lewiston.
