Derek Boissonnault, Thornton Academy junior, sprinter: Finished fourth in the 55 as a sophomore (6.74) and led off Thornton Academy’s sixth-place 800-meter relay team at the Class A state meet.
Ben Decker, Yarmouth senior, distance: Finished second in the Class B state meet in the 2-mile (9:59.19) before taking 16th at the New Englands in a much-improved 9:49.68.
Colin Grove, Cheverus senior, distance: Placed fifth in the 800 in Class A last year (2:01.98).
Cameron Langlois, Scarborough senior hurdler: Took eighth in the 55-meter hurdles (8.45) at the Class A state meet and ran on the Red Storm’s second-place 800-meter relay squad.
Hugh McSorley, Scarborough junior, throws: Fifth at the Class A state meet in the shot (46-04.75).
James Ociti, Biddeford senior, sprints: Should prove a leading sprinter in Class A this year. Ociti took second in the 400 in Class A last year (50.26) and sixth in the 55 (6.77). He then went to the New Englands and took fourth in the 600 meters (1:22.91).
Duncan Preston, South Portland senior, jumper/throws: A thrower with great jumping potential, Preston took second in the shot indoors last year (51-02.25), third in the long jump (20-02.5) and fifth in the triple jump (40-11.25).
Colin Tardiff, Scarborough sophomore, distance: One of the reasons Scarborough is back as a strong contender, Tardiff as a freshman took fourth in the mile (4:39.04) and sixth in the 2-mile at the Class A state meet (10:21.45).
Elijah Yeboah, Cheverus senior, sprints/hurdles: A key scorer for Cheverus, Yeboah placed fifth in the hurdles in Class A last year (8.24) and sixth in the 400 (52.83).
Isaac Yeboah, Cheverus senior, sprints/hurdles: After returning from an injury that sidelined him indoors, Yeboah finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles outside and third in the 300 hurdles. Should score state-championship points, just like his twin brother.
