Souper Bowl of Caring will be held this weekend when teens at area parishes in the Diocese of Portland will collect monetary and food donations following Mass. All proceeds will be given to local charities, food pantries and soup kitchens. Since its inception in 1990, churches across America have raised more than $90 million through the initiative. Sunday

Patrick Pass, 11:30 a.m., former Patriots running back and three-time Super Bowl champion, will be at Next Level Church, 1053 Forest Ave., Portland. Pass will be interviewed about his playing career with the Patriots and the role God has played in his life. He will sign autographs and Patriots memorabilia will be given away. Pass played for the Patriots from 2000 until 2009 and was part of three World Championships. “Muslim-Catholic Dialogue and the Challenge of America’s Polity, Values, and Culture,” 6:30 p.m., with professor of theology Dr. Daniel P. Sheridan as part of Saint Joseph’s College’s Cultural Affairs Series. The program will take place in the Viola George Auditorium, Harold Alfond Hall at the Standish campus. The event is free and open to the public.

“Snow Stage,” 7:30 p.m., production by musical theater students from Studio 408 and held at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, 350 Route 1, Scarborough. The show is free and open to the public and a reception will follow the performance.

Feb. 8

A Day of Inner Peace Retreat, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., renewal session with guided meditations and short teachings led by American Buddhist monk Kelsang Pawo. Bring a lunch or eat at a local restaurant. An Acoustic Evening with Maine Christian Artists, 7 p.m., fifth annual concert with Roger Buzby, Ali Kyle, Dean Richardson and Frank Marston. The concert is free and an offering will be taken.
