With a solid margin of victory in Freeport, the Regional School Unit 5 2014-2015 school budget was approved at the polls Tuesday, 1,264-908.
The $27.4 million budget passed in Freeport by a 946-366 vote. It failed in Durham 223-371, and failed in Pownal 95-171.
Durham residents will absorb a 6.78 increase in taxes. Pownal’s increase will be 6.21 percent, and Freeport’s will be 3.59 percent.
