BANGOR — Bangor police say a 37-year old Maine woman is dead following an early morning crash on Finson Road.

Police and rescue crews were called at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police say passenger Elizabeth Horlieca of Hudson, Maine was pronounced dead at the scene. The car’s driver — 42-year-old Shawn Macnevin, also of Hudson — was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center with serious but apparently, non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say the 2000 Jeep Macnevin was driving ran off the road and struck a tree head-on. They say a blood alcohol test on Macnevin was done but the results are not yet available.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
