SACO ”“ John A. Lamirande, 61, of Saco, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015.

He was born in Biddeford on April 2, 1953, the son of Isabella (Remillard) Lamirande. He was educated within the Saco school system.

John was employed by General Dynamics in Saco for more than 40 years.

His hobbies included hunting, finishing and tinkering. John enjoyed spending time working in his garden. John enjoyed talking to people; he always took time to say hello and had a story to tell. John was large in stature but kind of heart and was always willing to help his friends and family.

He is preceded in death by: one brother, Paul; and one sister, Jane Mink.

He is survived by: his wife of 43 years, Suzanne (Fournier) Lamirande; daughters, Hope Labelle and her husband Michael of North Carolina, and Joyce Elliott and his son-in-law Christopher Tabor of Saco; four grandchildren, Matthew Labelle of Virginia, Shanise Elliott and Owen Elliott of Saco, and Bradlee Labelle of North Carolina; one sister, Pauline Mason; one stepsister, Pauline Morin and her husband Lee; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 5 at St. Joseph’s Church, Good Shepherd Parish, in Biddeford.
