Rocker Grace Potter and the soul/jazz outfit Lake Street Dive will perform at the new Thompson’s Point outdoor music venue on Aug. 1.

It’s the third show announced so far for the venue, which is opening as a concert site this year.

The announcement brings the number of major outdoor concerts scheduled for this summer in Portland to 25.

Of those, 21 are scheduled for the Maine State Pier, three are slated for Thompson’s Point, and a one-day festival headlined by the rock band Guster will be held on the Eastern Promenade on Aug. 8.

The latest Thompson’s Point show was announced Tuesday morning by the management of Portland’s State Theatre, which is booking the new open-air venue. The venue has a capacity of about 5,000 and is located off Congress Street near Interstate 295.

Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday and are $40 in advance and $45 the day of the show. The 6 p.m. show will be open to all ages. For tickets and information, go to statetheatreportland.com.

The other Thompson’s Point shows scheduled so far are Ingrid Michaelson on June 28 and Primus and Dinosaur Jr. on July 27.

The Maine State Pier shows, organized by Waterfront Concerts in Bangor, range from country singers Lee Brice (May 16) and Gary Allan (May 29), to The Beach Boys (Aug. 13), Gregg Allman (Aug. 18) and Counting Crows (Aug. 20).
