Last weekend, I volunteered at the Maine Boatbuilders Show, and I was overwhelmed by the positive feedback shared by attendees. I met folks from Texas, North Carolina, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. Many said they come every year – “If you want to see real boats, you come here.”

Some of these folks were visiting Portland for the first time, just to attend the show. Some shared stories of dining here or staying there and really enjoying Portland. This show is a catalyst for business development for our boatbuilders here in Maine. It also contributes to prosperity to our city.

Thank you, Phin Sprague and family, for starting the show and staying firmly at the helm of a positive event.
