Carly Fiorina will speak at the Maine Republican Party state convention in Bangor Saturday on behalf of presidential candidate Ted Cruz.

“Ms. Fiorina’s unique story and solutions-oriented leadership along with her demands for accountability in government have captured the attention of Maine Republicans,” said party Chairman Rick Bennett in a statement Tuesday. “We are happy to have her back in our state at such an exciting and historic Convention. Ms. Fiorina’s straightforward approach to many of our nation’s challenges very much aligns with that of Maine Republicans.”

Fiorina is the former CEO of Hewlett Packard, and was a candidate for the presidential nomination but dropped out of the race on Feb. 10 after a poor performance in the New Hampshire primary.

The convention will be held Friday and Saturday at the Cross Insurance Center, where party members will choose 23 delegates to represent Maine Republicans at the national convention July 18 in Cleveland.

Other speakers during the weekend include Ben Carson, the retired neurosurgeon and former presidential candidate, who is now a Trump supporter and will speak at a Friday night dinner, and former New Hampshire governor John Sunnunu, who will speak on behalf of John Kasich on Saturday.
