I am writing to express my support for Republican Amy Volk for re-election to represent District 30 (Scarborough, Gorham and Buxton) in the Maine Senate.
Over the past six years, I have watched Sen. Volk serve her district and the people of Maine exceedingly well.
In particular, her commitment to addressing the needs of some of Maine’s most vulnerable people has led to the passage of important legislation focused on affordable senior housing, homelessness, sex trafficking, General Assistance for asylum-seekers and workforce development.
She has also played a central role in making Maine a national leader in efforts to prevent childhood lead poisoning. These are critical human issues, not partisan issues, and Sen. Volk’s ability to reach across party lines to get things done is a model for legislators across the state.
I encourage voters in Scarborough, Gorham and Buxton to support Amy Volk’s thoughtful, collaborative leadership by re-electing her to the Maine Senate.
