NORTH BERWICK — Robert “Bob” Raymond Frechette died at his home in North Berwick on Jan. 20, 2017 at the age of 78.

Robert R. Frechette is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Frechette, his daughter Anna Grondin and her husband Renauld of Sanford, his son Robert R. Frechette II and his wife Marie of Springvale, his grandchildren Brian R. Grondin and his wife Erin of Wells, Robert R. Frechette III and his wife Emily of Sanford, James Grondin and his wife Valerie of Springvale, Fallon Frechette and fiance Jay Brooks of Sanford, Kristina Grondin of Sanford, Candice Labbe of Boston, Massachusetts, Bryce Turner of Alfred, Alexandria Frechette of Biddeford, and Trent McLaughlin of Springvale. Also, his great grandchildren Kinsley, Colin, Robert R. Frechette IV, Cameron and two expected great granddaughters Elise and Lydia.

Robert R. Frechette was preceded in death by: his father Ernest N. Frechette and mother Marie Jeanne (Jalbert) Frechette. His brothers Richard and Donald, and sister Blanche, also his great granddaughter Isabella E. Frechette.

Bob served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1958 during which time he met the love of his life Mary Jane Craigo in Greenville, South Carolina. They got married on May 2, 1959 and have been happily married for 57 years.

Living in Sanford, Bob became involved with the Sanford Fire Department where he served for 33 years, and was also a respected Chimney Sweep for Southern Maine during that time. Bob had a gift for making people laugh. Bob was always helping those in need and found joy in making people happy. Bob loved to tell jokes, play friendly jokes on others, and was a great story teller. Bob was an avid hunter and made yearly hunting trips with all of his friends, where he caught more Z’s than animals.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 5-8 p.m. at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford. Reception will follow at the St. Ignatius Gym. Burial will be in the spring at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
