ARUNDEL — Robert R. Giguere Jr., 75, of Arundel, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire following a lengthy illness.

He was born July 10, 1941 in Biddeford a son of Robert R. and Marie (Gosselin) Giguere Sr. and was educated at St. Andre’s School in Biddeford.

On July 1, 1961 he married Priscilla Lavallee in St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.

Robert had been employed at the Saco Tannery and the Saco Lowell Shops before working as a truck driver with Carl Subler Trucking. He had also worked at Preble Fish Co. in Cape Porpoise and Maine Shellfish in Kennebunk. He had retired in 2008.

Robert had volunteered at the soup kitchen at Most Holy Trinity Church. He enjoyed hunting and was also a member of the Waterboro A.T.V. Club.

He was preceded in death by: two brothers, Mark in 2015 and Norman in 2016, and a sister, Claudette Carter, in 2011.

He is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Priscilla Giguere of Arundel; a daughter, Michelle Fisher of Lyman and her children, Anthony and Christine Fisher, and her grandchild Hailey Mangini; a son, Robert R. Giguere III of Biddeford; two brothers, John Giguere and his wife Joan of Saco, and Laurent Giguere and his wife Helen of Biddeford; five nephews and three nieces.

Visiting Hours will be 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28 at St. Anne’s Chapel in St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.
