The Portland-based Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England plans to build a new 15,000-square-foot headquarters at 1945 Congress St.

Construction is scheduled to begin this summer. The center, which does cosmetic laser surgery and other procedures, said it plans to open at the new location in spring 2018. Its current location is about 1.3 miles east at 1375 Congress St.

The project will be led by Wright-Ryan Construction, with support from Northland Development and Archetype Architects.

The headquarters will include medical office spaces, parking and a private checkout area. The company said it will provide modern workspaces that are comfortable for patients and staff, as well as being energy-efficient. The building owners are Drs. Michael Bedecs, Maria Atkins, Robert Abrahamsen and David Branch.

“After years of planning, we are incredibly excited to bring to fruition our dream of an advanced, innovative workspace that houses our entire practice suite under one roof,” said Atkins, the center’s co-owner and medical director. “This is more than just a building to our team; it is a major accomplishment in CEC’s history, and a reaffirmation of our commitment to the New England community to provide one-of-a-kind care and treatment options to our patients.”

In addition to housing the Cosmetic Enhancement Center, Advanced Vein Center and Age Management Center, the office will have additional medical suites available for lease. The building also will include a cosmetics store, which will sell a number of the practices’ skin care and cosmetic products.
