DURHAM – David A. Dufour, 76, passed away at his home Feb. 19, 2021. He was born on Nov. 15,1944 in Biddeford, Maine, into a large family.

Dave grew up in South Portland, Maine, and attended South Portland schools. He enlisted in the Army right after high school and served his country honorably. While stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, he was asked to serve at Co. Headquarters where he acquired top secret clearance of which he was always extremely proud.

After being honorably discharged from the Army, Dave returned home to Maine where he embarked on his career as a professional house painter. He worked for a reputable contractor in Yarmouth, Maine, for many years and eventually went out on his own to continue serving his many customers with their painting and floor refinishing needs.

Along the way Dave met the love of his life, Jeannette. They were happily married for over 40 years at the time of Jeannette’s passing several years ago. Dave and Jeannette lived in Yarmouth, Maine, for many years and eventually retired to their new home on several acres in the country where they enjoyed many happy years together.

Dave was predeceased by his wife, Jeannette, his parents, and three of his five brothers. He is survived by two brothers, a sister, his stepchildren and their families, as well as, many nieces and nephews.

The family invites you to a funeral service on Sunday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m., at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, Maine. (207-846-4011) Interment will be at a later date. All COVID restrictions will be enforced and masks are required to enter the funeral home. Services will be live streamed on the website.
