The decision to drop “Dilbert” was necessary and important. Scott Adams’ racism is blatant and offensive, and supporting his creative efforts encourages that racism. It is interesting that the strip ran next to “Curtis,” showing the life of a Black boy in this country.

Adams’ rant that Black Americans are a “hate group” and that white Americans are a target of racism was troubling. Is it possible for the dominant group to experience racism? Or is racism the method of the powerful prohibiting the defined group access to opportunities and resources?

It takes courage to do what is right, and dropping this comic is the right thing to do, and will support anti-racism and perhaps help people learn the history and causes and results of perpetuating racism. Thank you for your courage and witness.
