Yarmouth residents re-elected Michael Wilbur and elected newcomer Christina Patrick to the school committee Tuesday.

Wilbur received 778 of the 1,985 votes, or 39%. Patrick received 698 votes, or 35% of the votes.

Four candidates were seeking two seats on Yarmouth’s school committee. School committee members serve a three-year term in Yarmouth.

Candidates for school committee were incumbent Michael Wilbur and newcomers Sarah Norsworthy, Christina Patrick and Taryn Southard.

Allison Hodgkins, whose term ends this year, did not seek reelection.

Wilbur, who has served one term on Yarmouth’s school committee, is a second grade teacher in Topsham. Before teaching in Topsham, Wilbur ran a small business in Yarmouth for 25 years.

Patrick is the mother of two children at Yarmouth Elementary School. She has spent her career partnering with school districts for recruitment and development.

Norsworthy, an educator and literacy coach with two two children in Yarmouth schools, received 14%, or 286, of the votes.

Southard, a teacher and literacy coach for Portland Public Schools and a mom of two children in Yarmouth schools, received 11%, or 223, of the votes.

Residents also voted on the school budget Tuesday. The budget passed with 839 votes in favor and 284 against, or 75% to 25%.
