Kate Emelie Turner

SCARBOROUGH – Kate Emelie Turner of Scarborough, born Sept. 28, 1980, found peace on March 10, 2023.

Kate’s first love was dance. She also enjoyed art, travel, music, cooking, design, her many adventures with her Dad and a new appreciation for gardening.

She graduated with honors from the Design Institute of San Diego with a B.A. in Interior Design. She remained on the west coast after graduation, eventually settling in Portland, Ore. where she lived for 15 years. She returned to Maine in 2016.

Kate had tremendous compassion for children, volunteering at Shriners Hospital and an after-school program. She was also a fundraiser to benefit the children.

Kate will be remembered for her goofy sense of humor, her intelligence, creativity, and that magnetic smile.

She was predeceased by uncle, Gene Turner of Kentucky, aunt, Carla Ham of Portland.

Kate is survived by her mother, Carin Martin of Scarborough, father, Richard Turner of Standish and his partner Jan Keiper; an aunt and uncle, Paula and Thomas Lorello of Gray and their son, Matthew of New York; aunt and uncle, Donna and Fred Turner of Windham and their sons Rick, Bob and David, of Windham; uncle, Frank Ham of Windham; cousins Steve Turner and Julie Holmansky of New Hampshire.
