WEDNESDAY
6:56 p.m.: Police respond to a report of an active shooter at Just-In-Time Recreation, more commonly known as Sparetime Recreation, a bowling alley on Mollison Way in Lewiston. Dispatchers in Auburn are told a man walked in and began shooting. Other 911 calls follow.
7:08 p.m.: Multiple 911 calls report that a man has entered Schemengees Bar & Grille on Lincoln Street and started shooting.
8:06 p.m.: Police release an image of a suspect with a rifle at the bowling alley, and another of a white Subaru with a black bumper believed to belong to the suspect. Shortly after, residents of Auburn and Lewiston receive emergency alerts advising them to shelter in place.
8:15 p.m.: Dispatchers receive reports of a shooting at the Walmart Distribution Center on Alfred A Plourde Parkway. These reports turn out to be incorrect.
8:20 p.m.: The Maine Department of Public Safety announces that Lewiston City Hall is the staging area for police searching for an active shooter in the city.
9:26 p.m.: A caller tells Lewiston police that the man in the released photo is Robert Card, 40, of Bowdoin.
9:56 p.m.: A vehicle matching the Subaru’s description is found at the Miller Park Boat Launch on the Androscoggin River in Lisbon. It is registered to Robert Card.
11 p.m.: A Walmart spokesperson says reports of a shooting at the company’s distribution center are untrue.
11:30 p.m.: Michael Sauschuck, commissioner of the Maine Department of Public Safety, confirms that Robert Card is a person of interest in the shootings. Sauschuck refuses to comment on the number of casualties.
THURSDAY
Early morning hours: Police continue the manhunt for Robert Card.
After 6 a.m.: Police expand the shelter-in-place order to include Bowdoin.
Just before 11 a.m.: In a press conference, Gov. Janet Mills and law enforcement leaders confirm 18 people have been killed and 13 are wounded. Seven people died at the bowling alley, eight at the bar, and three more at local hospitals.

1:55 p.m.: Residents in parts of Sagadahoc and Androscoggin counties receive phone alerts telling them to shelter in place, and to “make sure your homes and vehicles are secure.”
1:55 p.m.: The Canada Border Services Agency alerts its officers to be on the lookout for Robert Card.
4:47 p.m.: Several loud bangs are heard over several minutes outside a home at 911 Meadow Road in Bowdoin. Law enforcement officers are seen standing with long guns on a structure in a large field next to the home owned by Ryan and Katie Card, brother and sister-in-law of Robert Card.
5:24 p.m.: A neighbor of the Bowdoin home says Ryan and Katie Card used to live there, but it has been vacant for some time.
5:53 p.m.: State police say the loud bangs heard outside the home were not gunshots. “It’s a tactical operation,” says Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss.
8:05 p.m.: Several law enforcement agencies stage outside the Bowdoin home. A state police spokesperson says officers are executing several search warrants at homes in the area, but they do not know if Card is in any of them.
Evening: Three shooting victims remain in critical condition at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

FRIDAY
Early morning: Robert Card, 40, remains at large more than 36 hours after the shootings.
10 a.m.: Police plan to conduct a sweeping search, including a dive team, near the Lisbon boat launch where Robert Card’s abandoned car was found Wednesday.
10:30 a.m.: Police confirm that a note was found at a home linked to Robert Card. The Associated Press reports it is a suicide note.
10:30 a.m.: The public is asked to send tips to a new digital tip line at FBI.gov/LewistonTips.
1:28 p.m.: The state medical examiner’s office says it has identified all of the 18 people killed.
2:10 p.m.: Colleges and other institutions remain closed.

5:23 p.m.: Authorities lift the shelter-in-place order in Sagadahoc and Androscoggin counties.
5:23 p.m.: The state Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Service announces that hunting will be prohibited indefinitely in Lewiston, Bowdoin, Lisbon and Monmouth beginning Saturday, the first day of firearms season for deer.
5:23 p.m.: Authorities release a more detailed description of Robert Card: He is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs about 230 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes.
7:45 p.m.: Authorities find Robert Card dead in Lisbon of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
10 p.m. Gov. Janet Mills and law enforcement announce that Card’s body has been found, ending the statewide manhunt after more than 48 hours.
10:20 p.m.: IFW announces the hunting ban in the four communities has been lifted.
