FREEPORT – Liam Langaas had two goals and an assist Wednesday to lead York to a 4-1 victory against Freeport in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy soccer game.
After Zach Green of Freeport (3-2) and Pierce Twohig of York (3-0-1) traded goals in the first half, Langaas scored the first two for the Wildcats in the second half, then set up William Bennett with the final score.
Nathan Diffen had four saves for York. Alex Campbell of Freeport stopped nine shots.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 4, TRAIP ACADEMY 1: Tyler St. Pierre scored twice as Gray-New Gloucester (3-1) downed Traip Academy (1-3) at Kittery.
Ian Martell and Jack Martell also scored for the Patriots, and Ralph Humiston for Traip.
PINE TREE ACADEMY 11, A.R. GOULD 2: Andrew Goorhuis scored seven goals and Brandon Pierce added three as the Breakers (5-0) downed the Bears (1-3) at South Portland.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 1, WAYNFLETE 1: Mohammed Suja scored for Waynflete (2-0-1) and Ryan Rousseau for the Panthers (2-2-1) at Portland.
YARMOUTH 1, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Ryan Maguire scored as the Clippers (2-2) beat the Raiders (2-2) at Yarmouth.
POLAND 5, LAKE REGION 1: Logan Nichols had two first-half goals as the Knights (1-4) beat the Lakers (0-4) at Poland.
SACOPEE VALLEY 11, WELLS 1: Mitch Watson scored four goals as Sacopee Valley (5-0) beat the Warriors (0-3) at Wells.
