Consumer Marketing Specialist

The Portland Press Herald, part of the Masthead Maine network, is looking for a Consumer Marketing Specialist to join our Marketing team.  

Who we are: 

Masthead Maine is a network of independent news and media outlets that together form an essential part of daily life in Maine. This includes the Portland Press Herald, Maine Sunday Telegram, Kennebec Journal, Morning Sentinel, Times Record, and Mainely Media papers. 

Who we need:  

The right candidate has strong core competencies to build upon, including: 

  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Project management knowledge and experience 
  • Strong sense of teamwork  
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and willingness to adjust on the fly  
  • Experience or education in marketing, sales, journalism, or related field is required 
  • Someone local to Maine – this job cannot be performed out of state 

Willing to train:  

The right applicant must have basic computer software competency, but we will train them on our specific systems. Learn how we leverage our platforms to convert subscribers and promote the stories from our award-winning journalists. This position will be well supported across all departments.  

Responsibilities Include:

  • Data analysis and testing  
  • Meeting our revenue goals and budget.  
  • Build digital campaigns with the help of our creative team 
  • Leverage the power of our daily printed product 
  • Grow our prospective subscriber pool and usership 
  • Make decisions based upon data and adjust as needed
