Nancy and Charles Shuman of Winthrop walk with their 4-year-old granddaughter, Sophie Shuman, into the building in Augusta. The Shumans funded major renovations at the structure that now houses the synagogue’s religious school and office space.
Temple Beth El Rabbi Erica Asch opens an ark that once belonged to the Gardiner congregation inside the Nancy and Charlie Shuman Center for Jewish Learning after the building’s dedication in Augusta on Sunday.
