Muslims gather for prayer at the beginning of Eid Al-Adha, a four-day holiday that is celebrated by members of the Islam faith

Islamic leaders estimated that more than 3,000 Muslims from Greater Portland gathered for prayer at the start of the Islamic holiday Eid Al-Adha at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland, which was leased for the event Thursday.
