Traffic was tied up on the southbound lanes of Interstate 295 in downtown Portland this morning after a crash on Tukey’s Bridge.
The Maine Department of Transportation reported that a crash reduced traffic to one lane on the southbound lanes of the bridge as emergency vehicles responded to a crash that occurred at 8 a.m.
The resulting traffic jam extended from Exit 9 in East Deering to Exit 6 at Forest Avenue.
As of 9:15 a.m., the crashed vehicles had been cleared and traffic was once again flowing normally.
