Maine Technology Institute has awarded grants totaling more than $57,000 to four local companies developing new products. The awards triggered more than $68,000 in matching private funds.

The institute awarded TechStart grants, which are intended to support specific activities such as business plan development, intellectual property filings and market analysis. The recipients are Delta Dewatering LLC in South Portland and Grojo Inc. of Turner. Delta Dewatering was awarded $3,380 and contributed a match of $6,200. Grojo received a grant of $5,000 and provided a match of $5,300.

MTI also awarded two Business Accelerator grants,which are intended to advance a new technology to market and establish or increase the scope and sustainability of the business enterprise. These grants are reserved for companies that have been chosen for federal small business development programs.

Mingle Analytics Inc. of South Paris was awarded $34,000 and provided a match of $40,702. Niche Diagnostics LLC of Gorham received $15,000 and provided a match of $15,807.
