Boys’ Basketball Preview: Wrestling for wins
A.J. Dufort, the Noble boys’ basketball coach, wears many hats.
He has a goal of what he terms “creating a buzz” about Noble basketball, but it’s been tough sledding for the coach and his program.
As he begins his fifth season, Dufort is entrenched in his role as coach, promoter and organizer. He hasn’t lost his enthusiasm despite few wins. He knows it’s a process and steps to improve often come in small increments.

Thanksgiving Day Game: And just like that, Deering in charge
Back-to-back kickoffs turned the 99th Thanksgiving Day game in Deering’s favor Thursday.
Favored Deering had all it could handle with Portland through three quarters and into the fourth. But that all changed in a sequence of a few seconds with the kick returns.
The Rams went on to score two more quick touchdowns to win the annual game 35-14 at Fitzpatrick Stadium.

Deering tops Portland in Thanksgiving Day game
Deering broke open a 14-14 game early in the fourth quarter by scoring 21 straight points to beat Portland, 35-14, in the 99th Thanksgiving Day Game Thursday at Fitzpatrick Stadium.
