Land trust leads hike during Mushers Bowl

Don’t let the dogs have all the winter fun next weekend during the Mushers Bowl. Join Loon Echo Land Trust for a moderate snowshoe hike to the summit of Bald Pate Mountain.

The two-hour hikes will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday and Jan. 23. Hikers will see animal tracks and great views that aren’t available at other times of the year.

Hikers should wear appropriate winter clothing, bring snacks, water and snowshoes (a few pairs will be available upon request). Check in at the Five Fields Farm stand by 9:45 a.m. to register. Although there is no charge for the hike, there is a $3 charge for an admission button to the Mushers Bowl events.

Loon Echo Land Trust has been a sponsor of the Mushers Bowl since 2006. Find out more about the trust online at www.loonecholandtrust.org or call 647-4352.
