Why make something so difficult illegal?

It is hard to sit in the elements, no moving, no talking – sit as still as possible for hours, hoping to see a bear. It is very expensive to buy bait, pay forest companies for sites and gas to go to the sites every other day – feeding the bears. If a hunter is quiet enough, still enough and lucky enough for a bear to come in during legal hunting time, he has a choice to shoot or not.

Bear hunting with dogs is physically demanding. They run over mountains. By the time the bear is treed, every muscle in the body is screaming. Now a choice – shoot or not, because the bear will have to be packed out.

Few can do it. Many dream of hunting a predator so wicked smart and strong. Consider: Why make something so difficult, so adventurous, illegal?
