BIDDEFORD — Lucille Grenier, 94, of Biddeford, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Health First Hospice, Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends in the days leading up to her passing.

Lucille was born in Biddeford on March 30, 1922, the daughter of Albert and Rose Voyer.

She took an early interest in dancing, often performing locally with her sisters Simone and Doris. That interest never waned. Even when she became a senior citizen, it didn’t take much coaxing to get Lucille to dance and sing a song or two from the great American songbook, including her favorite tune, “It Had to Be You.”

Lucille was married to Conrad Grenier on May 30, 1942, at St. Andre’s Catholic Church in Biddeford. The marriage lasted 65 years and produced three sons: Richard, Michael and Marc.

The family moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts, in 1958. Lucille was a homemaker, devoting much of her time to her husband and sons, but the family apartment was also a welcoming environment for relatives, friends and neighborhood kids, especially when the Bobby Orr-led Bruins were on TV.

Sports were dear to her heart. She loved the Boston teams and Notre Dame football, and was a big fan of Tom Brady and the Patriots to the end.

When Conrad retired from Raytheon in Andover, Massachusetts, he and Lucille moved to Winter Haven, Florida, in 1982 and spent summers at Ossipee Lake in Waterboro before coming to Rockledge, Florida, in 2001. Her “darling” Conrad, a World War II veteran, passed away on Jan. 2, 2008.

Lucille is survived by: her three sons, Brother Richard of Chicago, Michael (and wife Eileen) of Lawrence, Massachusetts, and Marc (and wife Deborah) of Melbourne, Florida.

“Memere,” as she was affectionately called by her family, also adored her granddaughters Danielle Grenier of Tampa, Florida, and Nicole (Grenier) Wry of Lawrence, Massachusetts, and her great-grandson, Brody Wry.

A memorial Mass and celebration will be held for Lucille at 11 a.m. July 9 at Most Holy Trinity Church, Main Street, Saco.
