PORTLAND — Georgianna D. Gilbert, 90, of Portland and formerly of Biddeford, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 15, 1926, in St. Jacques, New Brunswick, Canada, a daughter of Alphonse and Annie (Francoeur) Dumont. She was educated in Canadian and Caribou schools and came to the Biddeford area in 1943.

On Nov. 14, 1964, she married Roger M. Gilbert at St. Andre’s Church.

Georgianna worked for over 25 years at Pepperell Mfg. Co and for 16 years at Biddeford Textile, retiring in 1988.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Gilbert, Jan. 2, 2004, and a brother, Alphonse Dumont, in 2012.

Surviving are: a son, Ronnie Dumont and his wife, Brenda, of Topsham; a sister: Bertha Levesque of New Brunswick, Canada; a grandson, Jeffrey Dumont of Biddeford; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at St. Anne’s Chapel of St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
