Beginning Tuesday, March 30, and continuing through April, Congress Street between Gilman and Weymouth streets will be reduced to one lane of travel from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The lane closure will accommodate underground utility work associated with Maine Medical Center’s construction project.
Two-way traffic will resume each day from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
The MMC Visitor’s Garage will remain open, but its Congress Street entrance/exit will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. The garage’s Crescent Street entrance/exit will remain open.
Within the first few days of construction, MMC will conduct a traffic study to determine whether changes should be made to improve traffic flow.
