A Windham woman who was struck and killed by a motorist on Route 302 last week had gotten out of a vehicle she was riding in to retrieve money that had flown out the window, according to a crash report.

Lisa Reynolds, 47, died at the scene near the intersection of Route 302 and Trails End Road.

The driver of the other vehicle, 51-year-old Margaret Hunter of Cape Elizabeth, was unharmed.

Capt. Bill Andrew of the Windham Police Department said Thursday that although the crash is still under investigation, he did not anticipate any charges.

According to the crash report, Reynolds was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Stephen Herbert, who lived at the same address as Reynolds in Windham. Their relationship was not known.

The vehicle Reynolds was traveling in was headed west on Route 302, a busy four-lane road. When it stopped and she got out, she walked into the east travel lane and was struck by Hunter’s GMC Sierra pickup truck.

A fundraiser to cover Reynolds’ funeral expenses was created on gofundme.

“In memory of our dear friend and mother please help us raise enough money to honor this amazing woman,” Brandon Higgins, the campaign organizer, wrote in a post.

Reynolds attended Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, according to her Facebook page, and lived in Oxford County until recently.
