WINDHAM – Stephen D. Libby passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 10, 2021 with his two sons and grandson, Garrett, by his side.

Steve was born to Glenn and Gladys (Hayes) Libby on April 10, 1949. He lived most of his life right there on Libby property in Windham with generations before and after him as well.

Steve married his “Sweetie” Linda Louise (Higgins) Libby in 1978. Before Linda’s passing in 2019 they had been married for 41 years. Through those years they owned and operated several businesses including, Libby’s Rent All – Libby Energy – and – S.D. Libby and Sons Transport.

He was proud to be a lifelong member of Presumpscot Lodge.

Steve especially embraced time spent on the Libby family property on Dundee Pond, specifically “Herm Haskell Cove” and “Glenn Libby Point”. Whether it was family reunions with many gathering together or just he and Linda alone to watch a sunset, each moment spent there was truly precious to him in its own way.

Steve is predeceased by his parents Gladys and Glenn; siblings Stanley and Jane; and wife, Linda.

He is survived by two sons, Allen D. and wife Tammy Jean, Adam W. and wife Wendy; his number one grandson and right hand man, Garrett and partner Charlene, seven other grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; along with nieces and nephews.

A private family burial is to be held.
