Alfred H. Gelinas

BIDDEFORD – Alfred H. Gelinas, 82, passed away Oct. 27, 2022 at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.

He was born Sept. 13, 1940 in Worcester, Mass., the son of Alfred and Mary King Gelinas. Alfred attended and graduated from local schools in the Worcester, Mass. area.

After graduation, he served in the U.S. Airforce as a corpsman. After his service, he moved to Alaska and worked as a CRNA. After Alaska, he moved to Maine, living in Scarborough and later Cape Elizabeth. While in Maine, he worked for over 35 years as an Anesthetist for Maine Medical Center, retiring in the early 2000s.

Alfred then moved to Raymond, on Sebago Lake. He enjoyed working with his hands, making model planes, fishing, camping and being involved with his grandchildren.

Alfred is predeceased by his wife, Mary in 2016.

Survivors include two sons, William A. Gelinas of Old Orchard Beach and Daniel R. Gelinas of Naples, and wife Christina, two daughters, Patti N. Gelinas of San Francisco and Ellyn C. Gelinas of Wells, 2 sisters Betty Gelinas and Kathy Gelinas of Anchorage, Alaska; and nine grandchildren, Shaelyn, Nikki, Hunter, Iris, Liam, Aria, Lily, Nora and Tally.

A memorial service will be held Friday Nov. 18, at 12 p.m. at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, 83 Stanley Rd., in Springvale. U.S. Airforce Honors will be conferred.
