A woman sustained life-threatening injuries Tuesday evening after the car she was driving crashed following an alleged robbery at the Label Shopper store in the Jay Plaza.

Shannon Moss, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety, identified the driver as 33-year-old Vanessa Gordon of Livermore Falls. Gordon, who has a revoked license, was transported by LifeFlight helicopter to a local hospital. A passenger, 38-year-old Joshua Allen of Farmington, was also seriously injured and flown by helicopter to a local hospital.

Moss said Maine State Police and the Jay Police Department responded to the report of a robbery at Label Shopper around 7:49 p.m. Tuesday. When an officer pulled their vehicle over, the suspects drove away. The officer pursued the vehicle into North Jay before it crashed near the intersection of Routes 1 and 4.
