Marcus Van Barlow

PORTLAND – Marcus Van Barlow, 86, passed away peacefully on Jan. 14, 2024 at Maine Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Marcus worked at Oakhurst Dairy for 42 years until his retirement. Not wanting to sit still, he worked another 15 years for Kris-Way Trucking, retiring again at the age of 83.

He enjoyed many activities throughout the years; playing, coaching and umpiring softball, bowling, shooting darts, hunting and he was a champion marksman and an avid snowmobiler.

Marcus is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia; son, Brian (Sandy), daughter, Cheryl (Fred); two grandchildren; and his brother, Wayne.

He was predeceased by his parents Jesse and Audrey Edgerton; brothers Larry and Frank Barlow.

Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24 with a funeral to start at 12:30 p.m. at Dolby, Blais, Segee Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook, concluding with a burial at Brooklawn Cemetery, Portland.
