Most Maine citizens agreed with Sen. Collins last year, myself included, when she announced she wouldn’t be running for governor. Three years earlier, she had won a fourth term – by a landslide. We trusted her then. We trust her now.
Today, the majority of Maine citizens support keeping Roe v. Wade and reversing Citizens United.
Perhaps Sen. Collins foresaw what many of us did not; perhaps she knew this was to be one of her greater accomplishments: She can bring balance back to the Supreme Court.
Whatever it takes, I urge Sen. Collins to block the president’s efforts to appoint the next justice until after the fall elections.
