I found the July 8 column by Jim Fossel extremely well taken (”A gentle reminder: Civility matters in politics, life,” Page D1). We have become a nation of derogatory name callers.
Since Mr. Fossel claims to be a conservative activist, I would urge him to get in touch with Donald Trump ASAP and deliver his message to him personally in the White House.
Our president has become the leading name caller in our country today. However, he could easily set an example of our returning to civility by learning how to close his nasty mouth and not make inflammatory remarks about those with whom he differs.
Yes, civility is sorely needed once more in our country and, as a conservative activist, Mr. Fossel could be the leader in aiding it to return.
