I am supporting the re-election of at-large City Councilor Jill Duson for demonstrating competence, pragmatism, willingness to listen and her institutional memory on the Portland City Council.

As a councilor, she has remained solid, steady and accountable to the general public while maintaining a functioning city government. She has remained free from activist agendas, contentious behavior and organizations demonstrating internal conflicts, questionable political motivations and limited transparency, as reported in the Portland Press Herald.

Affordable housing is an important goal for Portland. Ms. Duson’s two opponents (Joey Brunelle and Bree LaCasse) can talk of this need, but she has lived and felt the need for safe, quality housing that raises the self-esteem of its inhabitants. She will continue to lead in housing and the many other issues facing Portland today and in the future.
