Re: “The working life of Eliot Cutler” (Sept. 14):

While Democrat Mike Michaud has been advocating for Maine in D.C., working on behalf of our veterans, Maine shoe manufacturers and the working class, Eliot Cutler has been practicing law, working with investment and mutual fund companies and creating nonprofits (“OneMaine”) and then abandoning them.

The profile in the Press Herald provides a glimpse into the jetsetting life of Mr. Cutler and offers this telling quote from a Colorado county commissioner who worked with Cutler on the new Denver airport: “Former Adams County commissioner Jim Nelms called Cutler ‘cocky,’ ‘obnoxious’ and ‘swashbuckly’ in a 1996 story published in the Puget Sound Business Journal.”

Mr. Cutler, you’ve got a lot to be proud of, for sure. But please sit this one out, so that we can send Gov. LePage packing. You can swashbuckle your way to Augusta some other time.
